University of South Dakota

The University of South Dakota located in Vermillion, on the bluffs above the Missouri River, is approximately 40 miles from Sioux City. USD is the only nationally ranked doctoral University in South Dakota. It is the state's flagship university and prides itself on its strong liberal arts emphasis at the undergraduate level. The campus is also home to the state's only Law School and Medical School. Coursework is offered in traditional classrooms as well as over the state's Rural Development Telecommunications Network, by correspondence, and over Public Broadcasting and the Internet.
