Sioux City Transit System provides public transportation for the metropolitan area, including Sioux City, South Sioux City, and North Sioux City. All routes are run on a pulse system. Buses leave the outer perimeter of the city at 15 minutes past the hour and depart from downtown at 45 minutes past the hour. All buses meet at the Central Transfer Point, 220 Pierce St., to allow passengers to transfer to other buses.

During peak hours (6 a.m.-9 a.m. and 3p.m.-6 p.m. on weekdays) the busier routes have 30-minute service.

For bus route schedule information, call 279-6404 6:30 a.m.-5:45 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 7:30 a.m.-5:45 p.m., Saturday. For other routine business, call 279-6405, Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Senior Citizen Tickets and Tokens can be purchased at all Downtown and Morningside banks. All passes, tickets, and tokens can be purchased at the Downtown Central Transfer Point. All buses will arrive at the Central Transfer Point located at 220 Pierce.
