Morningside College

Morningside College was established in 1894 as a private institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The college offers five bachelor's degrees in more than 40 major fields of study and a Master of Arts degree in education. Morningside's liberal arts curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, effective communication, cultural understanding, practical wisdom, spiritual discernment, and ethical action.

The 41-acre campus includes the Hickman-Johnson-Furrow Library Center, the 1,300-seat Eppley Auditorium, and the Helen Levitt Art Gallery, featuring works by international artists such as Tamayo and Miro. Nearly all of the college's facilities, such as the state-of-the-art James and Sharon Walker Science Center and the Hindman-Hobbs Recreation Center, with 71,000 square feet of space, are available for community use.
