185th Air Refueling Wing

The 185th Air Refueling Wing's mission is to provide structure, training, resources, facilities and equipment in support of total force.  The 185th Air Refueling Wing provides equipment and trained personnel to meet the emergency and humanitarian needs of the citizens of Iowa and participates actively in local, regional and national initiatives and programs that add value to the Siouxland community.

Currently the 185th Refueling Wing continues to support the Global War on Terror, with members deploying to Afghanistan, Kuwait, England, Israel, Germany, Iceland, Iraq, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan and North America.  The Wing is busy providing airlift and refueling for other military units.

Army National Guard


1st Squadron 113th Cavalry
The Army National Guard has had a long and distinguished presence within Siouxland. As members of the famous 34th Infantry Division, the unit from Sioux City was called for duty during WWI, WWII and Vietnam. During services in WWII, the 34th Infantry Division had the distinction of being the first American National Guard division to enter the European theater as well as serve the most continuous consecutive days in combat (over 600).

The unit in Sioux City, reorganized as the 1-113th Calvary in 1996, is responsible for the command and control of all units and troops within the 1st Squadron 113th Calvary (1-113th CAV).

HHT provides opportunities in many different military occupational specialties, to include M1 tank mechanics, combat medical specialist, tractor trailer truck drivers and communications specialist. Primarily equipment located throughout the Squadron consist of M1 Tanks, AH1F model Cobra helicopters and M113 Personnel Carriers. U.S. Army Reserve
960th Quartermaster Company

The 960th Quartermaster Company (Petroleum Supply) is responsible for establishing and operating temporary petroleum storage facilities for general support of divisional and non-divisional units, and for maintaining a portion of the command bulk petroleum reserve stock. Among the company's capabilities is storage of more than 2 million gallons of bulk petroleum.  Today, the 960th employs approximately 130 reserve members in the Siouxland area.
