 John Morrell was founded in 1827 and came to Sioux City in 1972. With a total employment of 1,450 employees and an annual payroll of approximately $35 million, John Morrell's hog slaughtering facility manufactures top quality fresh and frozen pork products. John Morrell has been a viable employer to Sioux City, and contributes almost $450 million annually to the regional economy, in direct and indirect expenditures.
