Housed in the 1893 John Peirce
Mansion, the Sioux City Public Museum features
permanent exhibitions on the history of Sioux
City and the region, Native American life, and
natural history. Built by John Peirce, an early
real estate developer and city promoter, the
Richardsonian-style quartzite mansion has housed
the museum since 1961.
