Chili Cook-off

One of Sioux City's favorite events is the annual Chili Cook-Off. Teams from all over the Siouxland area compete in the event which is held downtown at the Fourth Street Plaza. The area's best chili cooks begin preparing their recipes early Saturday morning with the chili tasting beginning around noon. Taster kits are sold to those who wish to heat up their insides and all proceeds from the kits go to the Siouxland Y.

Competition is not limited to the team's ability to cook. Other competitions include the best salsa and the best booth awards. The Chili Cook-Off is usually held in late summer or early fall. For more details visit the Downtown Sioux City web site at www.downtownsiouxcity.com.
